Not many people can get away with Edward's POV without overdoing it or being sloppy. You definitely managed it! Summary: "And they lived happily ever after." ...Not. Fairytale endings never last. But this cliffie is one I'm glad can be resolved by clicking the "next" fantastic fight scene. Poor Buffy must hate being comparatively helpless. She strikes me as fairly fierce. Date: 03 Apr 2008 Title: Chapter 9: Chapter 9 poor Jake. one thing, how is Bella so controlled around humans just a few weeks after her transformation? As far as i understand it, she should be having a more difficult time with bloodlust. I love the way Buffy is perceived as just a girl, but then also something more powerful underneath—so that people take her threats seriously. Author's Response: You're right, Bella should be having a very difficult time with the bloodlust. But when I wrote this story, "Eclipse" had not yet been published so I didn't know about the newborns/bloodlust thing. So based solely on "Twilight" and "New Moon," I wasn't aware that would be such an issue for a new vampire being around humans. I'd finished this story long before "Eclipse" came out, so when it did, I just didn't bother to come back and rewrite the story. It would have screwed everything else up too much, anyway. I'm glad you like Buffy. She's one of my favorite fictional characters. I'm not sure how much you know about the show, but she is more than just a girl. As the Slayer, she has superhuman strength and power to help her fight vamps, demons and other assorted monsters. She totally kicks ass. The show is a major boost for girl power, and I'm not normally a "girl power" kind of person -- but she does kick ass. I'd highly recommend you watch the show if you ever catch reruns on TV or if you can rent the DVDs. It's an excellent show, from start to finish. |
